The Nanaimo Market Committee governed the activity of the public market and reported to the City Council.

Records were transferred to the City Hall Vault at an unknown date. In 1992, they were transferred to the Nanaimo Community Archives.

Fonds consists of the minutes of one meeting of the Market Committee and a cashbook.

Series consists of the minutes of a Market Committee meeting held on April 17, 1945. Also includes a copy of a resolution regarding banking privileges. Minute book also contains the minutes of the Board of Health, the Waterworks Committee, Zoning Board of Appeal and the Court of Revision.

Volume is in very deteriorated and brittle condition.
