Jean Davis was born in Glasgow, Scotland on October 13, 1907. Jean was raised in Halifax and was a survivor of the "Halifax Explosion". After her marriage to Bert, Davis moved to Nanaimo where she sketched and lived for 50 years, a founding member of the Nanaimo Art Club. For the last eight years of her life, she lived in Victoria where she died on April 1, 2004.

Collection consists of four drawings of historical subjects including views of Fitzwilliam Street, the E & N Station and part of Chinatown.
