         The structures shown in these plans (at what is now 60 Front Street) was Nanaimo's first purpose-built federal post office building.
        Material was donated to the Nanaimo District Museum in undocumented transactions and transferred to the Nanaimo Community Archives in 1992.
        Collection consists of architectural drawings for the federal post office on Front Street, which was constructed in 1884 using Newcastle Island stone. The Custom House and clock tower were added in 1912. Also includes a site plan.
