Nanaimo Family Life Association (NFLA) is a registered non-profit society. Formed in 1967, NFLA was the first Family Life Centre to operate in the province of British Columbia. The agency is operated by both paid staff and volunteers. Originally funded by a grant from the United Church, the NFLA is now funded by a wide range of public and private funders.
