        Karen Shillington is an antipoverty advocate who ran for the Green Party provincially in 1991 and 1996, and federally in 1997 for the Nanaimo-Cowichan region. Shillington lived in Nanaimo for 30 years before relocating to Vancouver around 2009.
        Fonds consists of correspondence and conference papers related to antipoverty action in British Columbia, as well as correspondence, meeting minutes, and ephemera related to the E&N Railway Steering Committee 1981-1986. Fonds is arranged in two series: 1) Anti-Poverty Activities and 2) E&N Steering committee papers.
