        Gertrude Phillips was a writer and astrologer from the United States who joined Brother XII's Aquarian Foundation in 1929. The movement distintegrated in 1932, and Gertrude Phillips apparently left Nanaimo in 1940.
        Books (Foundation Letters and Teachings and The Three Truths) were donated to the Nanaimo Museum in 1969 by R.J. Walley. Remaining items were given by Gertrude Phillips to C. Filmer (Mrs. Harvey Murphy) in 1940 and subsequently donated to the Nanaimo District Museum. In 1993, All materials were transferred to the Nanaimo Community Archives.
        Fonds consists of spiritual lessons, notes and a letter to C. Filmer, c.1935; poems 1937, 1940; astrological charts 1934; and books on Aquarian philosophy by Maurice von Platen and Brother XII.
