        Catherine Gisborne was well-known heritage advocate and a volunteer member of the Nanaimo Heritage Advisory Commission (later the Nanaimo Community Heritage Commission), the City of Nanaimo Design Advisory Panel, and the Nanaimo Heritage Tree Group. She produced a booklet "Celebrating Heritages" and was part of the team that wrote "Robins Garden". Gisborne died in 1999. In recognition of her contribution to local heritage, the City of Nanaimo created the Catherine Gisborne Memorial Garden and plaque on Anchor Way.

        Fonds consist of photographs and notes from a Southend Heritage Walk, Nanaimo Heritage Summits and data collected on Robins Garden and Heritage Trees. The fonds is arranged in two series; 1) Photographs and 2) Miscellaneous.
