7-10 Club Society fonds (Revised 2008) 7-10 Club Society fonds [textual record]. – 1983 – 1996. In 1985, thirty-five people met in St. Peter's Catholic Church to form the 7-10 Club Society. The purposes of the inter-faith society are to provide free, hot meals to the needy, to provide opportunities for individuals or groups to become involved in helping needy people and to receive donations for use in helping the needy. The Society is also committed to providing services without discrimination or bias. Founding members included: Eleanor Chapman, Rose Zazonskowski, Patrick Leahy, Donald Bishop, Helen Hedberg, Patricia L'Hirondelle, Loretta Plett, Kay-Ellen Sharrock and Martin Godley. The 7-10 Club Society is governed by an elected board, is a registered charitable institution and is operated solely by volunteers. Fonds consists of records that document the functions and activities of the Society including minutes, correspondence, financial statements, and clippings about the Society that appeared in the Nanaimo media. Fonds is arranged in six series: 1) Constitution and by-laws; 2) Minutes; 3) Correspondence; 4) Attendance records; 5) Financial records; and 6) Miscellaneous. Series consists of correspondence, lists and notes related to the operation of the 7-10 Club and includes many letters of appreciation of the Society's work from individuals and groups. Financial records [textual record]. – 1985 – 1996. Miscellaneous [textual record]. -- 1985-1993 Series includes newspaper clippings and a scrapbook related to the activities of the 7-10 Club Society.
